Environmental Controllers
We have developed cost effective programmable controllers and sensors designed to monitor and control environmental conditions for a variety of applications.

Our intelligent controllers monitor and log conditions (inputs) to determine required actions (outputs) to maintain optimal conditions in an enclosed environment.

Our low cost Maxi 6 controller handles simple regimes with fewer inputs and outputs then the bigger Maxi 64 controller. Maxi 64 is programmable, modular in design and pricing, and cost effective for many different applications with more complex processes and regimes.
Our temperature and humidity sensors are suited for most control environments, although our controllers connect to many other types of sensors and devices.

Maxi 6 -
Entry Level Controller

This low cost controller handles simple regimes with fewer inputs and outputs than the Maxi 64 controller.
The MAXI 6 software is written to customer specifications and pre-loaded into the controller.

Logging of inputs is available - ASCII format data uploaded to the PC via serial (RS232/485) cabling.
There is no remote monitoring software for the Maxi 6 ‘mini’ controller.

Features
-
Up to 3 sensor inputs and up to 6 relay outputs
-
Up to 4 digital inputs and 1 variable output
Input cards
Choice of
-
Temperature card has one PT100 input
-
Humidity card has one Humidity input
-
Current card has one 4 to 20 ma input
Output cards
Choice of
-
DAC card with four 0 to 10 v dc outputs
-
Current driver card with four 4 to 20 ma outputs
No live monitoring and logging, configurable regimes, viewing or charting of logged data, GPRS modem communications - see Maxi 64.
Applications include:
-
Curtain control in a broiler house
-
Proving oven control
-
Boiler control
-
Fogger control
Maxi 64 - Modular Programmable Controller

Suitable for many different applications of control and monitoring, this sophisticated controller can handle quite complex programs and regimes. These include macadamia curing with individual bin control and automatic cut-out, bin by bin, as the nuts reach their EMC (equilibrium moisture content). Or multiple selectable regimes for drying and treating different varieties of timber.

Most regimes include alarm activations, including SMS messages, for specific pre-defined conditions.
Features
The MAXI 64 takes a combination of up to 8 input or output cards. Each input card has 4 inputs (various configurations of temp, humidity, digital or analog) and each output card has 8 outputs (digital or analog), allowing for a maximum of 32 inputs (only) or 64 outputs (only), or some combination of input and output in between.

The flexibility of the MAXI 64 allows the controller to be tailored for different applications and regimes and its modularity allows users to start small and grow by adding additional inputs/outputs.

Live monitoring and logging
The MAXI 64 software includes remote live monitoring of the controller and viewing or charting of logged data. Logged data can be uploaded to the PC via serial (RS232/485) cabling, Bluetooth or GSM modem.

It is also used to configure or program the controller’s functions and regimes and send these settings from the PC to the controller.

Applications include
-
Drying, curing - macadamia nuts, timber, fruit, maize, tobacco, potatoes, onions, etc.
-
Cooling and de-greening/ripening of fruit
-
Greenhouse and tunnel environmental control .
-
Poultry house environmental control
-
Incubator/setter control
-
Mushroom farming
-
Glass curing
-
Machine monitoring and control

MAXI Sensors

The most common requirements for environmental control are measuring temperature and humidity. Our basic range of sensors for measuring these two conditions are used in most of our controlled environments.
Note that our controllers will also connect to any other sensor (weather stations, pressure, light, gases, and other temp and RH sensors).

PT100 temperature sensor
Reliable temperature sensor is a standard for many applications such as refrigeration and drying. It is housed in stainless steel, which protects it from harsh environments.

Maxi Combo Sensor - relative humidity + temperature
Robust electronic temperature and humidity sensor suitable for harsh environments with the electronics sealed in a protective resin. Not recommended when the RH is above 85% unless there is an air flow. Suitable for many cooling and drying installations.

Wet and Dry Bulb humidity sensor
A reliable sensor suitable for applications where relative humidity is up to 100%. It consists of 2 PT100 'bulb' sensors, housed in a steel box with a fan that causes an air flow over the sensors. A water bottle supplies water to the sock on the wet bulb sensor. The RH % is electronically calculated based on the temperature differential between the two bulbs.
